We discuss why he has returned to Neverness to describe the next stage of evolution in humans and the universe, the metaphysics of memory, the relationship of Truth and Beauty, his conversation with Timothy Leary, and the scientific as well as aesthetic reasons to reject a reductionist, dead universe made of atomic billiard balls.
