A Chat with Joel Fishbane, Author and Story Analyst
If you're working on your next novel or screenplay, this is the episode for you. This week on TFTB we sit down with award-winning novelist, playwright, and screenwriter, Joel Fishbane. In addition to being a celebrated author, Joel is also a story analyst who assists writers and studios in developing screenplays. Joel gives us some advice on developing a good story, on navigating the industry as a full-time writer, and some pitfalls to avoid.
Joel is best known for his novel The Thunder of Giants, and more than fifty works of short fiction and non-fiction published, all in a variety of genres. His Sci-fi and speculative fiction work has appeared in "On Spec", "Tall Tale TV", "Abandon", "Metastellar" with forthcoming work slated to appear in "Penumbric" and "The Magazine of Sci-Fi and Fantasy". He has been honored in numerous competitions, including the BBC International Radio Playwriting Contest, and the Fratti-Newman Political Playwriting Contest. His feature film "The Composers" is in active development with Animal Mother Films.
